API: SaveAs to DWG always using SHEET SCALE 1:1

I came across soemthing that surprised me today. I always want to
save to DWG using the Base Scale option set to Sheet Scale.
Unfortunately, the SaveAs API method notoriously uses View Scale.
This results in a DWG out of scale (not 1:1).

If manually I select the sheet in the Feature Manager Tree then
File/SaveAs/..., the Base Scale option is always preset to Sheet
Scale. Actually, whatever view is selected prior to performing a
SaveAs to DWG that is the Base Scale preselected in the Option dialog.

My problem is I cannot yet VB code this into our batch conversion
routine. I have tried to use ActivateSheet, Getcurrentsheet, but
short of using the SelectbyId or some other method, the conversion is
always to a View Scale thus out of 1:1 scale.

I will appreciate anyone that can assist me.

it's been my experience that even if you set the option for 1:1, you have to
go back to options "every time" when saving as dxf/dwg. even though the box
stays checked, it doesn't work unless you "look" first. i'm referring to
saving manually (no automation).

 

i haven't used this function much lately. so after a quick re-visit, it
looks like sw will remember whether or not the 1:1 box is checked on a "per
file" basis.

that is to say ... the setting will be remembered "only" after you "look" at
the options once for "each" file.

glad i don't have to deal with this very much.

 

I believe this was discussed a few months back search google for the
discussion.

Thanks, I searched the earlier postings for my answer.

 

This happens also when you try to automate SolidWorks and do
a SaveAs. Hopefully this issue is fixed in SP5.0 and SW2005,
look for

SPR# 132909 DWG/DXF 1:1 Scale output option is inconsistent.
Must be selected every time to get consistent results.
