I am looking for some 3d blocks of people I can stick into my drawings for
    scale references.
    I am using AutoCAD 2000i

I can translate out 3D DXF from SolidWorks if you like (contact me
directly -- see my Web site). The figures I have are basically
articulated manikins with enlongated blob-like sections for body parts
(e.g., head, forarm, thigh, etc.). If you tell me the height of the
person you want to emulate and give me some idea of how you want the
body articulated (e.g., standing, sitting, hands raised, hands at elbow
level with upper arm vertical, etc.) I can give you "people" you can
import. Not likely to be tiny files, however. And they look more like
    robots than people.

Robot looking would not work well. The graphics in my drawings is very high.
I need some that have texture in their clothing, eye lashes, 3d hair.
I thank you for the offer though.
    David.

3d is needed for the live time walk through.
The file sizes are astronomical for my drawings and walk throughs !
It is the extra attention to the detail that sells my work.
Having a candle with its flame dancing, on the table as your camera walks
down the hallway, with the shadows dancing on the walls, makes for an
    impressive presentation.
The program I am using is AutoCAD 2000i with a SoftDesk overlay program for
    the animation and walkthroughs.

  6. I would have thought the limitations of Acad would be apparent long before
you got to the eyelashes on the people.

I'd love to see some of your work. Can you plop some on a webpage and post a
    link?
