Add descriptions to existing blocks?

    Is there a way to a to the description information of a block within a
    drawing without exploding and redefining a block? TIA

    Without the use of any third party tools or customization,
    use the block dialog box.

    Select the block from the list
    add the description
    choose OK
    answer yes for redefinition
