ActiveX can't create object

Discussion in 'AutoCAD' started by Steven Craig Basham, Jun 21, 2004.

  1. Hello.

I have a program that uses the filesystemobject from microsoft scripting
runtime dll. This program is installed on many machines and runs great.
However, one of my machines I get the "ActiveX can't create object" error
every single time it tries to run. I compared it with a working machine and
it is identical in OS and Machine... the only difference I could see is that
one Has Office 2003 (working), and the other has Office XP (non-working).

I checked the reference file for runtime and it seems to be referenced
    successfully..

Does anyone have any idea of what I should try to do next in order to repair
    the error?

Thank you so much for your help!

  2. Just in case this happens to someone else: The issue was the SCRRUN.DLL not
being properly registered. I used the unistall feature of REGSVR32.exe and
reinstalled it using the same. It functions properly now.
