acSMcomponents - Sheet Set Objects

    I would like to access a Sheet set database outside of AutoCAD via Excel. I can set the reference to the object library and DIM my variables properly, but when I try to establish a "= new AcSmSheetSetMgr" my code errors out. Do I have to be inside of autocad to invoke the sheetset object library or can I do this externally? Can this be done via DBX?

    Please let me know if you or anyone else has been able to do this... I
    can't connect to the AcSmSheetSetMgr object in excel either... anyone?
