Acrobat 6

  1. When printing an Adobe PDF file using Acrobat 6, I now get shadows on two or
three edges of masked text from Textmask in Express Tools. I'm using ADT3.3
on Windows 2000. The shadows show when zoomed at 100 percent or less. They
disappear when I close in to 200 percent or higher. Any ideas why the
shadows appear? I never had them in Acrobat 5.

  2. Acrobat is not designed to display high resolution images like AutoCAD is.
It's designed for speed and true type text it approximates the display to
speed things up. We get customers all the time who tell us the lineweights
are not being converted by our software and as soon as I have them zoom in
they can tell the difference. If it prints out fine it's probably not a
problem with the conversion but rather with the viewer.

  3. Upon further inspection of the testmask routine in Express Tools, I think I
see the problem. The wipeout image is surrounded by a box using the same
layer as the text. The border line is centered on the edge of the wipeout
image. This leaves half a line width for the Acrobat to see and print. One
can see this when entering the comamand "Tframes" to toggle the border on
and off. Does the wipeout command need a border? Can the border be gottone
rid of? I don't see this strictly as an Adobe caused problem, but I still
can't rember having the problem with earlier versions of Acrobat .
