Accurate text positioning

I'm in the process of creating some new sheet formats, so I've created
the title block and border using the numeric positioning and fixing a
few points or adding appropriate relations. But text doesn't seem to
have a specific point to position by; it's mostly just moving it around
until it "looks right". Everything is tied to sheet properties or
custom properties, I just would like more accurate positioning. Is
there a method I'm unaware of or do any of you have a better way of
    positioning notes/text in a drawing?

  2. To line up text, control select text lines and then choose Align from right
    click context menu.
From memory you have about 6 options Left, Right,Top, Bottom, Horizontal &
    Vertical.
Not sure if placing text at an absolute x,y position is possible in SW. At the
    bottom right of GUI
there is feedback on where the cursor is positioned, but no way of knowing where
the snap point is for text AFAIK.
Maybe turn on snaps in Document options?

Thanks. That's pretty much what I'm having to do. I also found that if
you turn on the grid & snap to it, you can drag the handles of the text
to snap to a grid point. However, it seems SW is handling the kerning,
line spacing, and baseline, so you can't have it sit exactly on a line
for example (at least in SW).

  4. Try holding down the Alt Key, this should temp turn off snapping behaviour to
    allow more accurate positioning.

However, it seems SW is handling the kerning,
