    Hello,

Just upgraded from softdesk 8 to land desktop 2004. In softdesk 8 it
was possible to set shortcut keys as osnaps. example ***accelerator
    ["f3"]near.

This doesn't seem to work in ldd2004. Is there a way to accomplish
    this? Thanks for any help.

  2. I'm running LDD3 in 2002, but this should work in 2004.

Type TOOLBAR to open "Customize" dialog box
    Pick "Keyboard" tab
Pick "Show All" button to see current set Shortcut Keys
Change "Categories" to "Object Snap toolbar"
    Select osnap in "Commands" window
Pick inside "Press new shortcut key:" window
    Hit Key(s)
    Example "F4", "CTRL-F4", etc.
    Pick "Assign" button
    Pick "Close" button when finished

  3. This is a method that I just came up with recently and works better than
reassing the F keys (I think anyway), But you'll need a four button mouse,
or give up your Middle Button Pan.

Using your forth button (thumb button) go to your mouse driver and set the
button to be a Key Stroke. If your driver doesn't support this update it
(new Logitech drivers now allow this). Set the key stroke as CTRL+ALT+.

Open yous ACAD.MNU file and add the following accelerators:
    [control+alt+"E"]_end
    [control+alt+"M"]_mid
    [control+alt+"X"]_int
    [control+alt+"S"]_ins (don't know why I can't use [control +alt "I"] but
    it just won't work)
    [control+alt+"C"]_cen
    [control+alt+"A"]_tan
    [control+alt+"Q"]_qua
    [control+alt+"T"]_tt
    [control+alt+"F"]_from
    [control+alt+"N"]_nod
    [control+alt+"Z"]_nea
    [control+alt+"P"]_per

(there are more but I don't use em.)

    Reload your menu.

All your OSNAPS can now be accessed by typing the appropriate letter whilst
    holding the thumb button down!

    Enjoy.

    Daniel.

    Alan,
Are you editing the right menu file? They did something incredibly stupid
with this release, your MNS file is not in support directory were it has
been for years it is now locatated in.
    [?:]:\\Documents and Settings\\[USER]\\Application Data\\Autodesk\\AutoCAD
    2004\\R16.0\\enu\\support\\
Why do I think this is stupid well, customization has always been up to the
user and it would appear that bit by bit they are trying to control this.
Anyway, if you edit the MNS file located in this location your changes
    should work.
A better way to handle this is actually to add your accelerators in a sub
menu. This way you will be able to easily edit it and when you reload a sub
menu you do not loose all of your other sub menu's and buttons etc. Hope I
am telling you straight, I have not been using 2004 much.
