DDE (Dynamic Data Exchange) is a method of communicating between
applications. It is a function of the Windows operating system and has
nothing to do with VBA or AutoCAD (LT) other than the fact that you can set
up a DDE link between your application (which could be written in VB) and
another application (which could be AutoCAD LT)

Once such a link is established you can send commands to the AutoCAD command
    line.
Despite the term Dynamic Data Exchange, you will NOT get any response back
    form AutoCAD.
You can NOT access the AutoCAD object model.

I do not know of a book about using DDE with AutoCAD LT. What I do know is
that it would be a very short book
AutoCAD is approx 1/10th the price of AutoCAD and one of the (very big)
reasons is that it does not expose any advanced means of customisation
If your need to program LT is as important as your posts suggest I recommend
you convince your clients / boss / colleagues that you need to be using
    AutoCAD

  3. Hi,

    To expand on Tom's reply.

If it is really important, go out and get a copy of AutoCAD. The marginal
cost of buying the full program will be absolutely trivial compared with the
years you spend trying to work your way around the deliberate limitations of
    LT.
