A2K4 Associative Hatching from Tool Palette

I have had problems with using hatches from the Tool Palette. When I insert a hatch such as ANSI37, it some times maintains it’s associative nature, most times it does not. I have ensured that in my BHatch dialog box the associative radio button is selected. I have as well tried all of the options of the pickstyle variable. To no avail. The times that I try to stretch my object, the hatch stays in place.
I read in another forum, "By object it is stretchable and by area it maintains the original boundary placement."

If in fact this is true, is there a way to change the Tool Palette from pick point to Select Object?

By the way, I like the ability to left click on the hatch in the Tool Palette and then select the area to hatch and continue the command by right clicking.

    Any help would be appreciated.
