A-size sheet in paper space

Does anyone know why the "margin" on the right side of an A-size sheet in paper space (layout) is wider than the left "margin"? When I say "margin" I actually mean the way you view it through AutoCAD (landscape view)
Am I missing a simple setting that can take care of this?

    Thanks in advance

I think I understand the question....

Assuming that you aren't centering the plot: The plot preview (and the plot) begins at the lower left corner of the drawing and is plotted based on the margin requirements of the printer/plotter. If the drawing (or drawing border) does use the full availble width of the print area allowed by the printer, then the right margin will be larger than the left.

You could try A) centering the plot, B) tweaking the A-size sheet border to take advantage of the full allowable print area.

    oops...should have read before posting.

Should have said: if the drawing DOESN'T use the full width allowed by the printer

I should add that I am plotting with an HP DeskJet 1220C plotter. I'll describe the problem for those of you who use the same plotter:
    I open a new drawing,
switch from model space to layout 1,
    click the plot icon,
select the HP DeskJet 1220C plotter,
select LETTERfor a paper size (A-size),
then I click on apply to layout,
    then cancel,
and behold......the dashed line that shows the plotting area on an A-size sheet is off center. The Right margin is larger than the left.

I hope this clears up any misunderstanding.

    Again, Thanks in advance.

Try the same thing with a different plot device. Sometimes margins will vary depending on the printer.

Thanks, I've narrowed the problem down to the plotter. If I use an a-size sheet with a different plot device it works just fine. But not with the HP 1220C. Is there a way that it can be corrected? I've explored some of the possibilities as far as printer preferences and settings with no luck. Everyone has been a big help so far thanks!
