3d modeling

    I need to draw a staircase or 3d spring or 3d screw with thread,Is it
    possible with autoCad or need other autodesk packege?

    I draw a circle and I extrude it to a spline but message as 3D-spline
    cannot be extruded in AutoCAD 2004

    It's entirely possible with AutoCAD, but you may find it a bit easier with
    Architectural Desktop (staircase) or Mechanical Desktop/Inventor
    (spring/screw).
    For the latter, do a Google search for "helix" or "spiral" as well as things
    like "coil spring."
