    Hi-

I'm not a draftsman and I new to AutoCAD. I've learned some drawing
skills, both 2D and 3D, but I don't know the best approaches to use when
designing new parts. I like to create 3D models of the parts so that I
can visualize them alone and in assemblies. I also need 2D drawings for
    the machine shop.

Once I have a 3D model is there a quick way to get 2D drawings from it?
(like three view orthogonals?) For example, I'd like to choose a
plane through the model (say X-Z) and get a 2D line drawing of it.

    Thanks,

    Jeff Taylor

Thanks, that helps. I'[m just getting used to "paper space" and "view
    ports".
