2004 slow startup

Discussion in 'AutoCAD' started by Chris Malcolm, Mar 3, 2004.

  1. In comparison to AutoCAD 2002, 2004 seems to be a lot slower to start up - has anybody else noticed this? In tests on a number of machines in the office, AutoCAD 2002 takes around 20 secs to start up, whereas 2004 will take around 40 secs.

Why is 2004 so slow on startup compared to 2002? Is there anything that can be done to speed up the startup?

My R2004 starts up in about 5 seconds.

Sounds like it's time to upgrade your computers. The only reason I've had
for 2004 being slower is lack of system resources.

If you have "Start in" folder with a lot of files it will take a lot of time
    to start.
Try to select a folder with only few files and see if that helps.
