I am printing 2004 with a HP1050c plotter and the lines and text are fuzzy. They are not crisp like previous versions.
Printing with .ctb file, color as greyscale.

  2. I am sure there a few reasons why this would be happening.

My first guess is that the paper selected on the UI of the plotter isn't the
type of paper on the spool. I understand that the correct paper selection
can make a world of difference.

Are you using a translucent bond? Did you select translucent on the
    plotter's UI?

Our quality is set to Normal (final) from the custom props of the pc3. I
don't think that the quality is negated so badly that it gets fuzzy though.

Also from the Custom props on the advanced tab is a Sharpen Lines option,
ours is set to "On" (CAD or Line drawings).

You might check for the latest driver too, if you don't get better answers.

    Good luck

I have plain paper selected. We are using white bond.
The quality is set to normal, have tried draft, no differece.

The sharpen lines is turned on.
    The dithering is turned off.
I have tried the standard plots that Autocad has, and there is no difference.
    I updated the driver today.

    Any other thoughts?

    Thanks

  4. "fuzzy" sounds like to much ink is being laid and the paper is being
    saturated, is this the case?

What does "fuzzy" actually mean? Is it a real tight double image?

We use an 18# translucent bond and use the translucent setting for paper.

Is it possible that your paper isn't "good"? We have a couple of rolls here
that smudged really bad while experimenting with some other grades. They
aren't really good for anything-just bad paper.

Smoothing may be a better description. The numbers are not rounding. Someone here mentioned it looks more like a raster image or a dot matrix.
I did play with the paper types. We use 20lb opaque bond.
It is not a double image. The line are just not smooth and clean. The zero '0' does not look like this. It has one straight side and one round side. My first thought was to much ink, but that has been reduced to draft.

I will play with it some more.
We are changing from SD8 to LDD4 at the end of the month, and I am trying to get everything set up.

    Thanks, Kelly
