2004 BMP images

Discussion in 'AutoCAD' started by Chris Lindner, Jul 9, 2003.

  1. I need to create some of my own toolbar icons and I want edit AutoCAD 2004's
icons to do this. I know that AutoCAD has its own icon editor, but for a
large quantity of icons, this tool is not efficient. I am using a product
called Axialis IconWorkshop. It lets me search though dll's, exe's and other
such file to "mine" them for icons. I have not been albe to find where
AutoCAD's icons are stored. I've looked through all the dll's. There are
some icons but none of the ones that are used in AutoCAD's toolbars.

Can anyone point me to where they are stored? And is there a wat to extract
    them all?

The icons are in binary or hexadecimal format. A standalone icon creator tool can 'extract' them. The one I use is MicroAngelo.

  4. You could always screen capture and crop the icons you want, with
paintbrush, and then paste them into the editor you use if it supports that.

Can you better explain this process - I have tried to open the AcadBtn.dll in MicroAngelo and it says the file has no icons.

I have extracted an RC_Data icon using a Resource Hacker to a separate file.  But saving it as an BMP produces an usuable file.

    What else to try?
